DO NOT USE an ice bath if you are pregnant, have heart disease or high blood pressure, suffer from diabetes, complications such as neuropathy or retinal damage, wear a pacemaker, have a history of frostbite, an open wound, recent surgery, epilepsy, or any other health concerns or risks.

Using an ice bath causes a significant decrease in your body core temperature. Cold water immersion leads to the constriction of blood vessels and slows the blood flow in your body. If you have existing health issues, this could elevate your blood pressure and increase the risk of cardiac arrest or stroke.
